CERTIFICATE IN
COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY
INTRODUCTION:
The certificate programme in
counselling psychology is a skill – oriented programme built on a firm
theoretical knowledge base. It allows the learners to acquire competence in the
knowledge of psychology and counselling skills and to utilize the blended
competences in counselling psychology fields of the students’ choice, both in
class and in the community.
The programme covers 140 credits
and its courses, the learning outcomes, the content areas, the teaching and
learning tasks and their evaluations have been drawn from the current Diploma
in Counselling Psychology programme. The Certificate programme therefore
enables its graduates who after having worked as beginning counsellors and or
additional to other qualifications such as nursing, social work and teaching
for two to three years or so and want a Diploma in counselling psychology may
come back and be allowed to start the diploma programme, at a fee.
